We're Here to Teach Your Children 5 Days a Week!
Here at iLearn Fast Tutoring Pod your child will have a safe place to learn with other students whose parents are also very like-minded individuals and are on the same page as the tutors at iLearn Fast Tutoring Pod. We accept all grades. Currently we have 2 tutors but as we grow we have had many emails from people that want to join the team, so we always have that option to expand in numbers of the tutors when necessary to do so. We will have 8 students to each tutor to assure that the students get the time that they require in order to learn properly. The classroom is set up in a way where the kids can still socialize with each other but the students are separated based on their grade and how they will focus the best in order to help them learn as much as possible. We primarily focus on math and English but we also do music, art and crafts, science experiments, we will be doing a science fair for the students so they can show off their science project to the other parents and show how it works, survival skills, gym, and French. The kids also get a break to eat a snack and then another break to eat their lunches. When the children finish their work before the other students are done then they get playtime or reading time. There is Lego in the classroom for the children to make some fun creations and there is also a good selection of books for all age groups for the children. The course material that we use is through Schoolhouse Teachers which is such a great curriculum! The schoolwork is very advanced compared to what they learn through the Alberta curriculum to the point where we have had a couple of grade 7 students that have come to look at the course material and they said that they haven't even learned much of the grade 6 work through Schoolhouse Teachers while they were in grade 6 in the school board system. We run the tutoring pod on Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The kids learn on Mondays to Thursdays and then on Fridays we have Friday Fun Day Fridays which are the days that are reserved for art, music, field trips, survival skills, et cetera. While the kids are doing their work we put on meditation music or nature music. This helps the kids to focus better and ease the children from all the stress they may have no matter the reason. We feel as though this has been such a beneficial thing for the children and has helped them through their day immensely! This also helps with any anxiety that the children (and tutors) may have at any given time, too. At iLearn Fast Tutoring Pod, the tutors here don't believe in giving the kids heaping amounts of homework like they get in the school board system. We feel that this only stresses the children out, makes them discouraged to learn and come to school, and overwhelmed. The only time the children will have homework is either if they haven't finished their work in school, if they have a quiz or a test that they must study for, or if they need to practice on something they learned in school that they aren't confident in so that they don't fall behind. Other than those things, the kids can enjoy the rest of their days doing whatever it is that they need or want to do once they're home. Our fees are $500/month per child for full time, as long as your child doesn't require any additional help such as 1-on-1 tutoring due to special needs or learning delays, and $600 for Pre-K students. This breaks down to only $25/day or $6.25/hour for K-12. We also offer parents the option of drop in/part time. This is $30/day per child. The fees are expected to be paid no later than on the 1st of each month. If your situation changes and you are no longer able to continue bringing your child to iLearn Fast Tutoring Pod, we require 1 month's notice which will also include the final payment. We do advise all parents to contact either their school board or an accredited private school operator (such as Wisdom or Willow which do interviews via online) so that your child gets tested 2 times a year and allows you to get the $860 benefit that the government pays (if the government is offering such benefits at the time) out to homeschooling parents, but if you choose not to go this route then there is a legal way of doing so; we will guide you through that process if this is what you choose to do. This will mean that there will be no online or in-home visits (in-home visits are only done if you choose a private school operator that is directly in Calgary) plus no funding (which ends on September 30 of every school year). All the parents are welcome to volunteer any day of the week if they choose to do so. If you want to help with field trips then this is also always an option to our parents, other family members, or friends of the family. We look forward to meeting more students and parents and hope to have your children join us at iLearn Fast Tutoring Pod! No time is too late to join our pod so please help us to spread the word so we can help protect more students from damaging brain cells due to oxygen deprivation and bacterial infections due to having to wear material on their faces all day in school. If you need any references from our current student's parents please don't hesitate to reach out to us for those references as we will gladly provide those to anyone who is interested in getting those. Thanks for taking the time to read all the information on our tutoring pod and we look forward to hearing back from you and others you may know! |
